SHAX Charity Warehouse
Main warehouse — best for larger furniture and big donations (see shax.org.uk for what we can accept).
Give in kind
Community bin map, packing lists, and how to host a bin—practical in-kind giving for starter packs, separate from cash gifts on Give.
Starter packs are built from new and donated essentials. Bagged hygiene and cleaning items can go in any SHAX donation bin in Dumfries—or bring larger donations to Merrick House. Full donate guidelines on shax.org.uk.
Simple steps
New or good-as-new hygiene and cleaning items—sealed where possible. No food or broken packaging.
Community bins across Dumfries take bagged donations. Merrick House is best for larger goods.
Your gift helps fill free Emergency Home Starter Packs for households referred by partner agencies.
Please note: Please limit drop-offs to 2 bags or 2 boxes per visit so we can manage donations fairly for everyone.
Starter pack stock
These go into Emergency Home Starter Packs for people moving into a new home. Clean, sealed, or good-as-new products are best.
Packing tips
Furniture, clothing, and more can support reuse and packs too. See what we can and cannot accept on the main donate page.
Drop-off points
Bagged starter-pack items: use any community bin below. Larger goods: warehouse at Merrick House, Monday–Saturday: 9am–4pm. Sunday: closed.

For businesses & organisations
Community bins make it easy for neighbours to drop off bagged starter-pack essentials. If you have a safe, visible spot indoors—reception, shop floor, or office—and would like to discuss hosting a SHAX bin, we would love to hear from you.
